"We manufacture our gaskets here in Lancaster, California, even though it is very costly to do business in this state. Yes, it would be cheaper to sell gaskets made in China but we couldn’t provide the service you expect, we couldn’t control the quality of the product, we couldn’t protect our intellectual property, well, basically, that dog don’t hunt. Back in 2004 I got a call from one of our customers alerting me that a Chinese outfit apparently liked our logo so well they decided to use it too, these pirates were trying to import gaskets bearing the very recognizable SCE Gaskets logo with their name in the middle of it! Nope, not going to China! Besides, if everybody had their stuff made overseas the country would eventually be left with nothing but a service economy completely dependent on others for the products we use.

We also employ an American workforce, we don’t hire those who are in this country illegally, that doesn’t mean we’re racist or even anti-immigrant. This company paid the costs for an employee to finish his naturalization process; today he is an American citizen, legally. That’s how the process is supposed to work.

As you can see from the picture we wave the flag, we’re proud of America and all she stands for, foremost among those being that this country is the chief proponent of Liberty in the world today. This is not a statement of arrogance, it’s just a fact. I believe that relationships are more honest and we are all better served by capitalizing on our respective strengths rather than apologizing for them.

While we are patriotic, we’re not anti-global (if that’s a term), we have a brisk and growing international market and we enjoy many mutually profitable relationships with businesses in Australia, Canada, Dubai, Turkey, Norway, Britain, New Zealand, Japan and more.
